Our gear
At Red13 we can cater for a variety of events. We have the latest systems to handle anything from a small club event to a large outdoor festival. We operate high-end, professional level equipment which is designed to be quick to install, powerful and flexible.
Lets get technical...
Mixing desks
Front of house mixing consoles include; Presonus StudioLive SL 24:4:2 (digital), 24 channels, 10 Aux sends, 8 x on-board graphics. Gates, compressors and 2 x effects per channel. Ideal for small/medium size concerts and also events where space is limited ( e.g. weddings ). The console can also be positioned to the side of the performance area and mixing done remotely using wifi network and I-pad. (unsightly cables or mixing equipment are far less visible). Technical details here; Presonus StudioLive SL24:4:2
For larger shows we currently use an APB Dynasonics Spectra console (analogue) which offers 40 inputs, (32 mono / 4 stereo), 10 Auxes, and 8 VCA's. Outboard includes 8 x Apex noisegates, 8 x Apex compressors, and Apex graphic EQ. When needed our Presonus StudioLive console can be used alongside the APB Spectra FOH console for mixing stage monitors & side fills. Technical details here; APB Dynasonics Spectre
Amplifiers
We use 10,000 watt four channel Lab-Gruppen state of the art amps for both front of house and monitoring. Few would argue thatthese are the best sounding amplifiers out there. We also run QB 4 x channel 1000/600 watt amps by Chevin Research.
Speakers
The speaker system of choice is HK's Contour line array. This is an incredibly flexible, modular, system which can either be ground stacked or flown. The system can be easily configured for small small /medium events, or for much larger events , e.g. outdoor fesivals...anything from 2 k/watt (1 box per side public address) currently to 24,000 k/watt flown rig with 6 x subs and 6 x flown double top cabs per side. Beyond this we merge our system with an identical rig owned by an associate company, this serves to minimise costs for medium / larger size tours.
Stage Monitors
Again we use HK, our monitors of choice are Contour CT115s which are HK's flagship range. These are used in conjunction with Lab Gruppen FP 10000Q 10K/watt amps delivering 1300 watts per monitor. For smaller events, e.g. public address, small music venues, etc. we frequently use our EV ZX-A1 800 watt powered monitors due to their clarity and smaller footprint.
Recording
We digitally record to 24 tracks on Macbook Pro using latest Capture, Smartsoft and Studio One software. Remixed CD's are available from us or WAV file can be provided for import into all commonly used DAW's for remixing by others later. This means, for instance, that a live concert of say 18 to 20 songs can be recorded and remixed onto CD for around half the cost of a weekend in a studio for a 4 or 6 track demo. Results have beenvery impressinve, we have recorded several live albums this way including; Earl Green and the Right Time live at the Bronte Blues Club released in Nov 2011. Lighting
We have 12 x Martin colour wash / spot units controlled with an ETC Smart Fade ML lighting console, in addition to LED Pro Par Cans which can be used on their own for smaller events to minimise cost. Where necessary we provide up to 36 x Martin wash/spot colourchangers. The lighting rig is designed to be installed quickly using Tri-lite trussing, Manfrotto and Doughty winch stands if needed. We also include a Martin Magnum 500 Hazer. Our Capture Polar design software allows lighting scenes to be designed beforehand and viewed in 3D virtual simulation before rigging.
